The Shut-Up-and-Give-it-to-Me-Quick Version:
Not a restaurant, but great service and amazing biscuits.
The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:
iPic is not a restaurant, it’s a movie theatre! However, this is not just any movie theatre, it’s a luxury movie theater! And trust me if the biscuits were not as good as they are, I wouldn’t bother, but I did vow to help you find the best food and these were pretty awesome.
Let’s rewind to the beginning…. I was on a father/daughters outing with my sister and my dad (duh!) and we decided to see a movie at the iPic theaters in Westwood. Being my first time, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the theater definitely sets itself apart from your typical AMC or Century. While there are theaters that serve alcohol, iPic gives you your own reclining chair (I might even venture to call it a chair-bed) with a blanket, pillow and personal waiter (oh and unlimited popcorn). This “luxury” comes at a price, of course, and while I won’t be making this my go-to for any and every movie, I will definitely come here when I want to treat myself. You can also get their cheaper, more affordable seats (leather and wider than your normal seats), but you forgo the free, unlimited popcorn, recliner and personal butler.
What we ate:
- Biscuits ($8)
Both seating options have access to their easy-to-eat, no-utensils-needed snacks. This is where we opted for the biscuits and let me tell you, I will be going back just for those. They were everything I thought they would be and more. The biscuits were made with black forest ham and cheddar cheese and served with whipped sweet barrel aged maple butter. I was in love! You can taste the cheese and the ham and the maple butter is divine! This sweet and salty treat is one that I want whether there’s a movie involved or not. The butter is whipped to maple perfection and it just adds the perfect topping to a fluffy, cheesy biscuit.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the movie, but don’t turn off you’ll cell phones just yet, because trust me you’ll want to post about these tasty treats.
