Tipsy Pig

The Shut-Up-and-Give-it-to-Me-Quick Version:
Love the back patio and the drinks! The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:

For those who don’t know, the Marina District is heavily populated with people my age (20s). The word “bro” has replaced “um” and the rest of the English language and they like to party, with all their bro-friends. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I’m being honest.  This isn’t a bad thing if you’re into that and if you’re freshly out of college, it’s probably even a little comforting. However, I know that’s not for everyone so it is worth painting the picture.

Now that the picture is painted I will admit there are places that are not worth braving the crowds. However, The Tipsy Pig is not one of those places. Their back patio and drinks are enough to make you come back again and again. Crowded? Yes. But once you’re seated, it’s cozy and the ambiance is nice. Whether you’re seated inside enjoying the darker, manlier feel or outside where you’ll enjoy the patio and hanging lights.

You don’t need to be dressed up, it’s casual. You’ll see guys in jeans and button up shirts, or t-shirts and girls in jeans and a nice top.

By the way, they are also open for dinner (and weekend brunch)!!

What I drank:

  • Strawberry fields ($10)

The Tipsy Pig, tipsy pig, cocktails, strawberry fields, strawberry, marina district, chestnut street

Oh the Strawberry Fields! This is the perfect amount of sweet, then add real strawberries and alcohol and you have a delicious drink that is refreshing and not too strong. It’ll even have your boyfriend stealing sips. “It’s kind of girly, but so delicious” – direct quote from a guy friend I was there with. My only complaint is that they aren’t always consistent. Sometimes the bartenders don’t make it quite right, but when there’s a little tlc in their drink making it’s amazing! Go ahead, order 2 or 3 –  after the first sip, you’ll want to.
