The Log Cabin Cafe

The Shut-Up-and-Give-it-to-Me-Quick Version:
Orgasmic.
The food is absolutely amazing! My favorite breakfast in Tahoe thus far.
The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:Dennis and I have been to Tahoe numerous times and this is the one restaurant that is an absolute must! He brought me here once and I have been in love ever since. The cabin feel and kitschy decor fits right in with Tahoe and makes you feel like your grandma is cooking for you. The back patio is a great place to sit, you can enjoy the sun and the delicious food. There isn’t a huge dining area and there is ALWAYS a wait. However, I will let you in on a little secret: if you call before you get there, they can put your name down, which lets the clock start running on your average 45-minute wait before you even get there (score!). Like everything else in Tahoe, this place is casual, so get comfy and wear something with an expandable waist.

Tasty and they don’t skimp on alcohol (but it isn’t super strong either). A great complement to any breakfast meal!

The Arizona French toast is a must, honestly nothing else is necessary. I think it’s crucial to order it both with custard and berries. The custard is like a house-made whipped cream and it makes it that much more delicious. Breaded in steel oats and cornflakes, this French toast is crunchy, moist, and perfectly topped with a dollop of cream and berries. There’s not much to say except that if you haven’t been, you’re doing yourself a real disservice.

If you are with another person and can somehow decide who will get the pleasure of ordering the French toast (Dennis and I love it so much we usually both order it), the blueberry pancakes are a must. They are a special, but they have had them every time I have gone. They moist, but thin (which is exactly how I like my pancakes) and oh so delicious. It’s all topped with homemade blueberry sauce, vanilla custard (the same one as the French toast), and powdered sugar.

Enjoy! And let me know what are your go-to orders.
