Winner.
Real ingredients you can taste! (Various Locations)The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:

Sweet Rose Creamery’s storefront in Fairfax doesn’t really call attention to itself, but once you step inside I’m sure it’ll get yours. With new, seasonal and classics, they have a great selection of unique flavors. The guy behind the counter was super helpful and didn’t mind our enthusiasm to sample multiple flavors before picking the perfect one.

Hours (Fairfax location)

What I ate:

  • Mint Chocolate ice cream

Let me preface this by saying that I never get mint chocolate, it’s not that I dislike it, it just doesn’t usually attract my attention. Something about the super minty (gum like) flavor mixed in with huge chunks of chocolate all presented in a weird, definitely-not-mint-colored green just isn’t as appealing. That all changed at Sweet Rose Creamery. Their mint is a normal cream color with actual specks of real mint and house-made chocolate chips. The taste is like no other. You can actually taste the mint and it tastes like…wait for it…real mint! This combination was delicious and I would definitely come back again!
