The Shut-Up-and-Give-it-to-Me-Quick Version:

Winner.
Sandwich was great, service was awesome and the sweet tea was delicious.
The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:
Today I decided to head back to Naked Lunch, my first experience was good, but a little disappointing. I thought I would give it another go. I arrived for lunch around 12 and the place was pretty full with a short line to order (you must order at the bar). The 2 people behind the bar did a good job of quickly taking people’s orders so the wait wasn’t too long. Justin (the bartender) was very attentive – he made sure I was enjoying my meal, had everything I needed and even offered me a taste of their sweet tea.Naked Lunch is situated on the risque side of Broadway and has a pretty big sized space. There’s indoor and outdoor seating as well as a few games. There’s plenty of seats and they accommodate larger groups nicely. I like their dedication to serving seasonal and making things in-house when possible. Their soup changes daily and they usually have a seasonal sandwich on the menu (a peach sandwich is the current offering).

What I ate:

  • Mary’s farm fried chicken sandwich ($10)

           Prices include tax

What I remember most from my first trip to Naked Lunch was their Johnny b – it’s a drink made with their homemade sweet tea (made with lemon and cinnamon) and their homemade bacon whisky. I loved it – it went down easy, wasn’t too strong and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. It was totally my kind of drink! Well this time Justin offered me a taste of just their sweet tea and I loved it! It is sweet (hence the name) but not artificially so and the lemon and cinnamon add a great taste! They also have happy hour so go indulge in some Johnny Bs after a long day at work!

I’m so glad I gave this sandwich another try, it was not soggy this time and my experience was much better. The best part of this is the chicken, it’s very crispy and very well served. It is worth noting that they use dark meat, I think this might be a problem for some, but I actually prefer it – it’s more flavorful and very tender. While the sandwich doesn’t look too big, it’s very filling. You definitely have to add the Crystal sauce that they give you – it makes a HUGE difference. I basically drench my sandwich in it – it reminds me of my trip to Louisiana and gives me all sorts of good feels – so don’t skip out. If you’re in the area this is a good sandwich with great service and tasty drinks!
