Delfina

The Shut-Up-and-Give-it-to-Me-Quick Version:

Good not great. (The burrata was orgasmic!)
The burrata alone was exquisite, the pizza was good, but it lacked a little flavor.

The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:
It was a Monday night and although they were packed, we didn’t wait that long. Considering we were a larger party, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. There are a few locations, make sure if you want pizza at their location in the Mission, to sit at the pizzeria, next door doesn’t serve pizza (even though it’s also Delfina).

Hours (for the Mission)
Mon   5 pm – 10 pm
Tues – Thurs  11:30 am – 10 pm
Friday   11:30 am – 11 pm
Sat    12 pm – 11 pm
Sun   12 pm – 10 pm

What we ate:

  • Burrata ($11.75)
  • Meatballs ($14.75)
  • Prosciutto pizza ($17)
  • Margherita pizza ($13)

The burrata was some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant. The bread truly made it, it was buttery and toasted just enough. All the flavors together were AMAZING! The greens, olive oil and pepper really added to the whole taste. I liked that all the extras enhanced the flavor of the cheese without taking away from it. I was very happy with this dish! A third piece of bread would’ve been appreciated.

The meatballs were very good, they weren’t heavy and they had a nice, rich flavor. The sauce was really tasty and the bread was perfect for dipping.

The pizzas were a bit underwhelming, I expected a little more taste. They were both a bit bland, I found myself looking for red pepper to kick it up a notch in the flavor department. They were well made, fresh and thin, but something was missing.I would be back for some drinks and the burrata, but I think there is better pizza to be found in SF.
