While the burger was good I was hoping for more. I didn’t like the chicharrones. The I-Like-to-be-Wrapped-Up-in-All-the-Details Version:
For lunch last Thursday, I chose to visit the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market because I’ve been meaning to try the 4505 burger. I was very excited; the whole process was relatively quick – 15 minutes. I did, however, go after the lunch crowd which is probably a safe bet. If you are looking into other vendors I may suggest going earlier because things sell out.
What I ate:
- Best damn cheeseburger (w/egg $15, w/o egg $13)
- Chicharonnes ($5)
The burger as a whole was very good, especially with the egg, but I was not that happy with the meat. It was thin and kind of dry. The egg and “special sauce” helped make up for that, but I was expecting more from a company that specializes in meat. It’s also worth noting that the price on their board said $10, but when she charged me it was $13 for just the burger, plus $2 for the egg. It threw me off that it was misrepresented. The real star of this burger was the sesame bun, it was super fluffy and light and didn’t get too soggy even with the egg.I didn’t like the chicharrones at all, they were really sticky (they stuck to my teeth and were no fun to chew) – I’ve tried many chicharrones and haven’t had this problem. I also found them pretty bland.
It’s a good burger, but it definitely doesn’t make it’s way to any best burger list in my book.
